Frequently Submitted Ideas

1. We should have a “Personal Shopper,” “Customer Liaison” or “Community Educator” position to help & educate our customers.

This is the job of each and every Team Member. Take these opportunities to engage our customers. If a group wants a tour of the store, this can be arranged through your store’s Community Relations Coordinator.

2.       We should make a sign that says…

We do not want to over-sign the store. We want Team Members to engage customers in conversation about discounts, events, promotions, their favorite items, etc., rather than make a sign that will be overlooked and create clutter.

3.       We get phone calls every day asking what items are on the hot bar. We should post this on the website for customers.

We are not going to post the hot bar menu on the website. Stores have flexible menus, and to maintain would be a logistical nightmare. When customers call, it is an opportunity for our Team to engage our customers. Although it interrupts your immediate work, this is an important part of being a retailer.

4.       We should have an event calendar on the website.

We have tried this in the past and it was not successful. Instead, there is a Facebook calendar available to each store. Team Members can also use these opportunities to engage customers.

5.       We should allow customers to purchase items through the website.

We are not an online retailer.

6.       We should have a “Team Member Picks” or “Team Member Favorites” program.

Every item is someone’s favorite, so we want to be careful when we promote favorites. Rather than creating a program, referring products are part of your job as an Earth Fare Team Member. Please try our items and engage our customers in these conversations. This is part of Earth Fare’s customer service program.

7.       Put calorie information on the items in Food Service.

There is a binder in Food Service that lists this information.

8.       We should compost.

We can’t mandate composting. If your store wants to compost, it needs to be done properly and supported by the Team Members within the stores. Here’s the issue: if composting is NOT done correctly, it becomes unsanitary and will lead to an infestation. We are in the food industry; we have a health code to follow. If your store can figure out a way to sustain a clean, reliable composting program, Earth Fare will support it.

9.       We should recycle more/differently than we currently do.

This is a city issue. We do what we can to support environmental causes, but our recycling abilities vary from market to market.

10.       We should have an option to not print receipts at the registers.

We've looked into this, and our current Point of Sales system does not give us this option.
